Tony Barnard has recently returned to Australia after 25 years in the UK, where he performed regularly at Ronnie Scott’s and other top London jazz clubs. He has played extensively throughout Europe, the USA, Asia, and Oceania. He is also a successful composer for his own jazz groups, television, and stage shows. As well as electric guitar, Tony is a master of the rare 21-string harp guitar giving annual workshops and concerts in the USA.

Tony Barnard comes from a family of musicians, and iconic Australian jazz dynasty. He is the son of Australian trumpet legend Bob Barnard, nephew of drummer and raconteur Len Barnard. His brother Adam isa well-known jazz drummer while his cousin Rebecca is a famous singer and TV personality in Melbourne. Tony’s grandparents also had a dance band in the 1930s and 1940s.Kath Barnard, his grandmother, was one of the first female band leaders in Australia.
Tony has recorded a diverse range of albums, 43 of them so far, ranging from jazz and blues to classical, world, and ambient. He has played with a vast number of significant artists.
