Summer Jazz Camp 2027 – Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to Summer Jazz Camp 2027 (Jazz Camp), operated by Jazz Workshop Australia Pty Ltd (JWA) and held from 3–7 January 2027 at Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation, Wakehurst Parkway, Narrabeen NSW 2101.
In these Terms & Conditions, “camper” means the person registered to attend Jazz Camp.

1. Bookings
All bookings for Summer Jazz Camp 2027 are subject to these Terms & Conditions.
For campers under 18, a parent or guardian must complete the registration and accept these terms on behalf of the camper. Campers aged 18 or 19 accept these terms on their own behalf.
Bookings are confirmed only once full payment has been received.
Registration opens 1 September 2026 and closes 12 December 2026, or earlier if the camp is full.
2. Liability
Participation in Jazz Camp and ordinary camp activities involves normal risks, including the possibility of accidental injury, loss, or damage.
To the extent permitted by law, JWA is not responsible for loss, damage, injury, or expense arising from participation in Jazz Camp except to the extent caused by JWA’s negligence or where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified.
3. Medical and Hospital Treatment
You consent to JWA and venue staff providing appropriate first aid if required.
If a representative of JWA or Jazz Camp reasonably considers that a camper requires medical or hospital treatment, you consent to JWA obtaining that treatment. Any ambulance, medical, hospital, or related expenses are the responsibility of the camper or their parent or guardian, as applicable.
Where practical, JWA will attempt to contact a parent, guardian, or nominated emergency contact before seeking external medical assistance unless urgent action is required.
4. Fees
All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
General
- Earlybird: $1,500 – registrations received on or before 22 September 2026
- Regular: $1,600 – 23 September to 23 November 2026
- Late booking: $1,700 – 24 November to 12 December 2026
Current JWA students
- Earlybird: $1,400
- Regular: $1,450
- Late booking: $1,550
Current JWA student pricing applies to campers currently enrolled in regular ongoing JWA lessons or combos with fees up to date. Casual lessons do not qualify.
Sibling discount: A $100 sibling discount applies to the second and each subsequent sibling from the same household attending Summer Jazz Camp 2027.
Fees include tuition, Jazz Camp program activities, accommodation, meals and snacks, and evening concerts.
There is no surcharge for payment by card. Payment arrangements are provided during the booking process.
Eligible NSW Active and Creative Kids vouchers are accepted. Voucher use is subject to the rules of the NSW Active and Creative Kids program.
5. Cancellations and Refunds
We understand that circumstances can change. However, JWA must commit substantial non-refundable costs well before Jazz Camp begins, including accommodation, catering, staffing, and venue costs. The refund policy reflects these commitments.
If you cancel a booking:
- On or before 22 September 2026: full refund less a $50 administration fee
- 23 September–4 October 2026: 70% refund
- 5 October–23 November 2026: 25% refund
- From 24 November 2026: no refund
Refunds apply to amounts actually paid to JWA. Amounts paid using redeemed Active and Creative Kids vouchers cannot be refunded as cash or credit and will be dealt with in accordance with Service NSW rules.
No refund is payable where a camper is sent home for serious misconduct or chooses to leave the camp early.
If JWA cancels Jazz Camp and does not provide a reasonable alternative arrangement, amounts paid to JWA will be refunded. Any voucher component will be handled in accordance with the applicable Service NSW rules.
6. Medical Conditions, Allergies and Special Dietary Requirements
You must provide complete and accurate details of any medical condition, allergy, medication, disability, or special dietary requirement relevant to the camper’s participation in Jazz Camp.
This information must be provided during JWA registration and updated if circumstances change before camp.
Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation has its own participant registration process, which each camper must complete. This includes medical and consent information. JWA will provide the relevant registration link to confirmed campers when it becomes available. The registration must be completed accurately by the deadline advised by JWA and is a condition of attendance at Jazz Camp.
Any camper with an allergy that may cause anaphylaxis must bring an EpiPen or Anapen with them to camp and provide Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation with an anaphylaxis management plan from their doctor.
Special meals must be requested in advance and are available at no extra charge. Any special dietary requirements or changes must be provided in writing to both JWA and Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation by 12 December 2026. If special meals are requested, the camper will be expected to eat the special meals provided for them throughout the camp, as extra alternatives may not be available.
7. Accommodation and Rooming
Accommodation is in shared rooms. Campers are generally grouped with others of a similar age, and sleeping rooms are separated by sex.
If a camper has circumstances that may require a different accommodation arrangement, please contact JWA before booking so that we can discuss what arrangements are available.
The registration form allows campers to nominate someone they would like to room with. JWA will make reasonable efforts to accommodate rooming requests, but cannot guarantee them.
Any special accommodation arrangement is subject to venue availability and may incur an additional venue charge where applicable.
8. Damage to Property
Campers are expected to treat the venue, equipment, instruments, and other people’s property with care.
You agree to reimburse JWA for reasonable repair or replacement costs charged to JWA for loss or damage caused by the camper to property owned or hired by JWA, Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation, or another participant.
9. Personal Property
Campers are responsible for their own belongings, including musical instruments, electronic devices, clothing, and other personal items.
JWA is not responsible for loss of or damage to personal property except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded. We strongly recommend clearly labelling belongings and appropriately insuring valuable musical instruments.
10. Supervision and Leaving the Camp Site
All campers, including campers aged 18 or 19, are required to remain on site for the duration of Jazz Camp unless leaving the site has been approved by the camp administrator or delegated staff.
Campers under 18 must not leave the site independently or for personal reasons without the permission of a parent or guardian and the approval of Jazz Camp staff.
This does not apply where leaving the site is reasonably necessary for medical treatment, an emergency or evacuation, an organised Jazz Camp activity, or another transport or safety arrangement authorised by JWA.
Campers aged 18 or 19 must not leave the site without the knowledge and approval of the camp administrator or delegated staff.
11. Behaviour and Dismissal
Jazz Camp is intended to be a safe, welcoming environment for campers and staff. Campers are expected to treat other people and property with respect and to follow reasonable instructions from JWA and venue staff.
Any of the following may, at the discretion of the camp administrator, result in a camper being sent home at the expense of the camper or their parent or guardian, as applicable.
- bullying, intimidation, harassment, or threatening behaviour
- violence or deliberately dangerous behaviour
- possession or use of weapons, illegal drugs, alcohol, tobacco, vapes, or e-cigarettes
- serious or repeated failure to comply with staff instructions
- deliberate or repeated disruption of activities
- deliberate damage to property
- illegal or significantly inappropriate behaviour
Campers must also comply with applicable rules and directions of Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation and the NSW Office of Sport.
12. Privacy, Photography and Recording
Information collected by JWA is used for purposes connected with administering Jazz Camp, including registration, payment, communication, supervision, child safety, medical and dietary arrangements, and emergency management.
Where reasonably necessary, relevant information may be shared with JWA staff, Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation, medical professionals, payment providers, or other service providers involved in delivering Jazz Camp. JWA does not sell personal information or disclose it for unrelated purposes.
JWA may photograph, film or make audio recordings of Jazz Camp activities and performances for educational, archival and promotional purposes. JWA’s use of photographs, video and audio recordings will be subject to the consent provided during registration. Campers may nevertheless be included incidentally in group photographs, video or ensemble recordings.
The final Jazz Camp Festival is attended by parents, family members and other guests. Photography and recording by attendees may occur and are subject to JWA and venue rules.
