Two scholarships were awarded to Summer Jazz Camp students this January 2018.
The recipient of the major award, the Sarah Waugh Return scholarship was pianist Yann Delaunay from New Caledonia. He was presented his award by sponsors Mark and Juliana Waugh.
Yann is an outstanding musician who fully embraced the life and spirit of the camp. He was always supportive of others, friendly, helpful and generally a nice person. This, along with his awesome piano chops made him the prime candidate for the award.
Saxophonist Abbey Johnstone was awarded the Jan Dilworth half return scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a female student
who fully embraces the life and spirit of the camp, already shows musical achievement and great potential.
She was presented her award by sopnsor Jan Dilworth.
