Renowned jazz educator Eric Dunan has joined us at Jazz Workshop Australia as a jazz combo teacher. He brings huge experience, enormous energy, and has an acclaimed track record as an effective and much-loved jazz teacher. Eric will also available on a limited basis to teach trumpet.
Eric Dunan has been playing trumpet for professionally for over 30 years. In the 1990’s he was a freelance musician in San Francisco. As well as playing in jazz, salza, and R&B bands, he toured with the well-known Soul-Rock Band Lydia Pense and Cold Blood before moving to Australia in 2001. While in Australia, he has distinguished himself as an authority in Music Education who has adjudicated the Sydney Eisteddfod numerous times and is a regular staff member at Jazz Workshop Australia’s Summer Jazz Camp. He currently heads the Jazz Program at The Wollongong Conservatorium of Music where he leads the Award-winning Wollongong Conservatorium Jazz Orchestra. Eric’s former students include Freedman Fellowship Winners and National Jazz Award Nominees as well as some of Australia’s most celebrated Jazz Musicians.
