Do you play an instrument? Would you or your child age 8+ like to join a jazz band where you:

a) play great music?
b) learn how to improvise?
c) learn the ways of jazz?
d) play with other like-minded, enthusiastic and talented musicians?
e) progress through a program with one of the best track records anywhere?
Well, you can! The combos at the Jazz Workshop are enrolling now. If you get in at the start of the year it is your best chance to get into the group that is best for you. Just email and we’ll get you started: info@jazzworkshopaustralia.com.au.
The photo shows one of our groups from a couple of years ago. Five out of six of them auditioned and got into the Sydney Conservatorium jazz course, and all are now professional level players. None of them was especially advanced when they started and half of them really couldn’t play jazz at all at the beginning of their time in the program. However, they had dedication, enough talent, and they stuck with it. Emma Stephenson (piano), Nick Henderson (bass), Jono Savery (tenor sax), Shota Matsumura (trumpet), Oli Nelson (drums), and Billy Ward (alto sax).
Each year students who progress through the JWA combo program gain sought-after places in tertiary jazz studies degrees or simply move into whatever other career they choose as fluent, high-level jazz players who have had a wonderful time with us and have the gift of music with them for life.
